Another one of my biggest drum influences, Eric Carr of Kiss took over for Peter Criss in 1980. I think he is one of the most underrated drummers of the 80's. His double-bass drumming was incredible. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1991.
EnlargeI was always drawing Gene Simmons on everything. I always seemed to get his makeup right, but his face just never turned out the way I wanted it to. I later got better at it, but this is one of my earlier attempts.
EnlargeI drew this version of Paul Stanley from the Kiss Solo Albums. The key to getting Paul to look right is always the squared jaw and puckered lips.
EnlargeOut of all the members of Kiss, Peter Criss was always the easiest for me to draw. I'm not sure why, but it is hard for me to mess him up when I draw him.
EnlargeThis is in my opinion, the best Gene Simmons that I have done to date. This was from another assignment in our art class in college. I am still happy with how it turned out 12 years later.

If Peter Criss was the easiest, Ace Frehley has always been the hardest for me to draw. I did like the version of him that turned out when I did this cover of KISS's second album.
EnlargeThis was a version of Paul Stanley without makeup. Again, the key to him was the puckered lips and the squared jaw.
EnlargeI decided I wanted to do four sheets of KISS members that I could put together to make a big drawing (kind of like the solo album posters for all you KISS fans out there), but I never finished it. I stopped at Paul and never got to Gene.
